There are a few ways to remove construction adhesive after you bonded two materials together.

Adhesive removers soak into the vinyl flooring glue and turn it back into its original paste of liquid state. Gently dab at the spot of glue with your cloth until the glue. Your cloth doesn t need to be saturated to do the job. Try loosening the grip of the glue by applying heat.

If there is a lot of glue then you may wish to push the glue towards a plastic card and lift it away before rubbing the flooring with the cloth. Soak a clean cloth in soapy water and rub it over the adhesive if it has not dried yet. Scrape away the glue. Dampen a cotton cloth with a small amount of acetone based nail polish remover.

Wipe over the surface of the vinyl where the glue is. Dab the vinegar or oil to the glue and let it sit for a few minutes to loosen its dried on residue. Occasionally you may need to wipe away construction adhesive or separate two objects bonded with it such as two boards two bricks etc. This will not remove it if it has dried completely.

It s possible that the glue doesn t come off. Be gentle and take your time. Keep the edge of your scraper even with the floor to prevent scratches. Before the flooring experts jump all over me or slam my comments i have to share that they don t typically recommend using a harsh chemical like acetone to clean the floor with.
